Welcome to Bits of Blessings Studio, where creativity meets craftsmanship! Founded by Colleen Brunner, a retired educator with a passion for sewing and design, our business is built on the love for handmade artistry and personalized service.

With over 49 years of marriage and a proud grandparent to 12 wonderful grandchildren, I believe in the value of family and tradition. This ethos inspires everything we do, from custom sewing and alterations to crafting unique handmade items that show your individual style.

Custom Sewing & Alterations: Tailored to fit your needs and preferences, ensuring you look and feel your best. Wedding dresses, bridesmaid, prom and formal gowns are a specialty.
Handmade Creations: From decorative pieces to functional items, each creation is crafted with care and attention to detail.
Classes & Workshops: Sharing my love for sewing is one of my greatest joys. Join us for sewing and artistic instructional classes designed for all skill levels, where you can learn new techniques and express your creativity.

Our Story:

Colleen began serving the area of western South Dakota in 1982 with her former photography/graphic design business and transitioned into sewing, alterations, handmade items and teaching classes in later years.

Anna is a huge help in the area of support, sewing alterations and really enjoys working with wool, quilting and doing all sorts of repairs from her “she shed”, a remodeled shipping container.

We strive to serve northwestern South Dakota and the Black Hills, but have grown to serve nearly all of western SD, northeastern WY, southeastern MT and south western ND.

This year (2023-24) has been a banner year for us as we have expanded, especially in the area of alterations and creative projects. Starting with the Beehive Bungalow for Pangea Design in June of 2023, moving through to the bedroom draperies in the tents and the ceiling panels in the Meander Restaurant for that same entity, we have proved we can create on a professional scale. We hope to do more and more in the coming months.

Meanwhile our alteration business is booming, with a record 15 wedding dresses either sewn completely or altered since March 2024. We are excited about the possibilities ahead for BOBS!
